Talking recently on humanity’s purpose triggered me to explore the question, what could humanities purpose be (purpose in a system not our species' potential in life) and what would that look like stacked into our essence and potential.
I thought I needed more context to build out the field around the question so I looked at it through the lens of an essence triad, though even with that I got completely stuck on the first point of humanity’s core process.
I started this inquiry at the end of a long and hectic day so in that warn out state, that low level of being, I could only see the destruction we have caused globally and to our fellow inhabitance on Earth, and made the mistake of focussing on the destruction and results of our work and following that back up the chain to project my negativity on our process.
NOTE: This is a static example of the Regenerative Institutes teachings, it has little value being used out of context, check out their website for upcoming courses https://www.regenerat.es/trp/
I left the computer and went for a beach walk. Putting my earphones in and liquid DnB on I thought about how this particular genre of music makes me feel like I’m on a connected journey with all of humanity in time… This triggered my answer to the first question
Our process, how we process the world, is through attributing meaning to everything, even when it might not be there… we are meaning mongers, as Pamela Mang would say.
Humanity propagates through time through an evolving search for meaning, and this core process has created all of the civilisations through history and even created a ‘future’ an abstract concept of something that has not yet come to be a now reality
This gave me more content to view our core purpose through (in a system) Although many species have evolved advanced consciousness and others are active creators of habitats, it is we that evolved both of these with the added advanced skills of abstract thought.
It's through this abstract thought that we have created these abstract concepts of time, money, governance, future, mathematics, quantum theory, and technology, and this was due to us being self-aware in a projected perspective outside the system itself.
In our earlier development, it also gave us the purpose of regulating our environments and being a net-positive to ecosystems. Even right up to modern times, many traditional cultures were extremely valuable to their ecosystems and the biodiversity of regions before we lost touch with the living world through our technological evolution
This technological evolution has structured many problems in itself creating a rod for our own back on many fronts, though it has given us enough space to be both subjective and objective in this reality… we are self-aware regulators
And so what is our core value? What would be noticed if we were removed from the system?
This brought me back to the devastation we have brought to the world. Though it also reminded me that this reality is not just the Earth, that we are a functioning part of a fractal universe, and from that perspective, our value to the universe is our objectivity to the system itself… we offer objective observation of self for the universe
So at this stage of my never-ending practice in this field, in this time, in this present state of being, I’ve come to Humanity’s Essence as:
Core process- meaning mongers
Core purpose- self-aware regulators
Core value- objective observers
Our vocation is conscious creators
As conscious creators, we are on an evolutionary journey developing the capability to harness the essence of the universe itself to design our own realities. We have the divine spark of creation flowing through our beings and are ourselves the conscious Isness witnessing this unfolding happening
Framing it like this highlights that our issue is our level of consciousness not what we create. From harnessing atomic energy to creating atomic bombs, the flip side of the coins for CRISPR gene editing to AI technology, these are all incredible creations though have come through us during our unstable and reactive teenage years of consciousness
Knowing this points to the work we need to do as a species raising our consciousness and reconnecting with the flow of life, though bringing with us all the lessons we have learnt and reconciling our technology with the living world
And this then leads to the most exciting question, if this is our true essence… what is our potential?
